Simon received her broadcast journalism degree from Florida A&M University and is a proud RATTLER. She currently works at WREG-TV where she serves as a news anchor. She joined the station as a breaking news anchor in March 2022. She is also an author at jumping into journalism in April 2022. Prior to joining WREG-TV, she served as a weekend anchor and a senior reporter at WACH FOX. Shay joined the station in February 2019 as a reporter. From August 2018 to December 2018, she worked at WCTV as an intern.
Before working at WCTV, she served as a news director at Florida A&M University. She joined the station as an anchor and a multimedia journalist in January 2015. From June 2018 to August 2018, she was an anchor team intern at CBS This Morning. She worked at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) for 2 years as a FAMU Chapter president. Simon began working there as a FAMU chapter vice president from May 2016 to July 2017.
For one month she worked at the Tom Joyner Foundation and was a big game ambassador. From May 2017 to August 2017, she served as a news department intern at WESH 2 News/HEARST NBC Affiliate.
