Brandon has seen the amazing changes in Wisconsin up close, from the Packers Super Bowl run in 2011 to the demonstrations over Act 10 days later and the subsequent recall races to the wild weather endured. He also covered stories regarding former President Bill Clinton stumping for President Barack Obama and the President himself, making countless stops in our state.
Brandon’s journalism journey began by doing every possible book report he was assigned on sports, athletes, or broadcasters. As he joined high school, the passion continued. He first became a writer for “The Amadon”, the newspaper for Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, CA., and then sports editor. From there, Brandon brought his talents to Southern California and Long Beach State, where he was able to get his first big break. He worked at KCAL for 5 years moved up the ranks and was producing sports, reporting on many of the same athletes he had been writing book reports about as a kid.
Brandon’s next life-changing moment happened soon after college as he was employed as the Sports Director at KVEW-KAPP in the Tri-Cities, WA. From there he did sports in Pocatello, ID, Denver, CO, and Colorado Springs, CO, before joining Milwaukee in 2006. In the Brew City, Brandon was fortunate to cover the Brewers’ return to the playoffs for the first time since 1982, the Packers, including Brett Favre’s final year with the green and gold, as well as their NLCS runs in 2011 and 2018.
Covering basketball in this city was amazing, especially after the Bucks drafted Giannis Antetokounmpo as he covered their playoff runs, including their 2019 Eastern Conference Finals appearance. The Badgers Final Four experience, which concluded in a loss in the NCAA Championship Game against Duke, was one of the most thrilling experiences Brandon has been able to be a part of plus, the nearly annual opportunity to cover Marquette in the NCAA Tournament has made for great stories.
Once again his professional life changed in June of 2014 when he repositioned from news back into sports. Again, he is informing stories of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, Marquette, and Wisconsin athletics, among others. During the football season, Brandon also covered the FOX6 High School Blitz. Along with giving sports news of the day, he is also sharing unique stories that take the viewers”Beyond the Game”.
