Before joining the station, he worked at WAPT in Jackson, Mississippi as a weekend evening meteorologist and fill-in for the chief meteorologist. While at the station, he reported on severe weather like damaging winds and flash flooding. Prior to that, Scott worked at WJHL-TV in Johnson City, Tennessee as a meteorologist for three and a half years.
Before that, he worked at WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio as the weekday morning meteorologist for 2 years. His love for weather began when he was 4 years old and as he grew up, he experienced different weather conditions from ice storms and snow to floods and hurricanes. Scott has received the seal of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from Certified Broadcast Meteorologist which gives credit to the ones who excel in his field of work. Throughout his career, he has experienced severe weather events like when 13 tornadoes tore through the Tri-Cities and killed thirteen people in April 2011.
