She stepped into this role in May 2020, after nearly four years as a reporter and multimedia journalist (MMJ), replacing former 9News This Morning anchor Lauren Westbrook. In her current position, she anchors the station’s morning newscasts, delivering breaking news, community stories, and in-depth reporting to viewers across southern Louisiana. In these two roles, Koh solo anchored/produced/directed breaking news coverage of a local shooting, breached the Aqua Dam, and severe weather events, anchored live wall-to-wall coverage for our sister station KPLC-TV when Hurricane Laura hit their studio, and co-anchored live wall-to-wall coverage during Hurricane Ida. Additionally, Koh launched the 4 p.m. newscast geared towards consumer alerts, COVID safety (May 2020), and provided live shots throughout multiple days of wall-to-wall coverage during the August 2016 flood.
In addition to her anchoring duties, Koh has also taken on an academic role as an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University since January 2023, where she taught introductory courses in television and digital news reporting. Before joining WAFB, Koh worked at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a reporter, producer, and MMJ from April 2015 to July 2016. While at KPLCTV, Koh was the only journalist to capture video of the suspect as he was taken away from the scene during the shooting death of Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent in August 2015.
