In this position, he anchors the weekday sportscasts during the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts, while reporting on NFL teams such as the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers, as well as college programs including the Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, Georgia Southern Eagles, and Savannah State Tigers.
Before relocating to Savannah, Lamar served as Sports Director at WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida, from 2020 to 2022. There, he anchored the weekday sportscasts for the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts. Before WCTV, he worked at KXMB in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he made history as the first African American sports director in North Dakota. He spent three years in the state, delivering the weekday sports newscast at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., and covering the Bismarck, Dickinson, and surrounding areas.
Earlier in his career, Lamar served as the weekday sports anchor at WFXL FOX 31 in Albany, Georgia, where he also oversaw the sports department. It’s worth noting that this was his first professional role after college. He later worked as an anchor/reporter for KFBB in Montana, covering the Great Falls and Helena areas.
