As the COVID-19 virus began to spread in the United States, Alex reported for months on how the virus impacted the daily lives of southeast Georgia, all while transitioning to a remote work environment.
He reported everything from information on local mask mandates, businesses financially impacted by the pandemic, and uplifting stories that highlighted the resiliency and positivity of his community through the outbreak.
Asides from the COVID-19 stories, he has also covered stories that caught national attention, from court proceedings of the Ahmaud Arbery case. This is in addition to covering the disappearance and death of 18-year-old Malik Spencer, and the touching-down of a deadly tornado in rural South Carolina.
