In 1997, he relocated to Texas from Iowa and while he was there, he experienced his first tornado in person and was hooked on the weather. While he was 16 years old, he became certified by the National Weather Service and NOAA to storm chase. The National Weather Service honored her with their certificate in Advanced Radar Interpretation. In addition, he also pursued his passion for weather while at Rowlett High School and broadcasted live weathercasts to 3,000 students and staff each week.
Furthermore, while he was studying at the University of Oklahoma, he was also an on-air reporter and meteorologist for OU Daily, OU Nightly, and Purcell Register. Prior to joining the WTOC team in 2018, he worked at WALB in Albany, Georgia where he served as a meteorologist for a period of two years. In addition, he won First Place in the Associated Press’ Best General Reporting in 2018, after he flew with the NOAA Hurricane Hunters. In 2021, he was awarded the Best Local TV Meteorologist award by Connect Savannah.
In 2019, he earned his Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from the Mississippi State University. During his leisure time, he enjoys working to raise awareness for local veteran non-profits and talking with local farmers.
