Ben is proud to call Milwaukee’s east side his home. His journey to Milwaukee brought him out of the woods of Connecticut, and through some of the country’s largest farm fields in Illinois.
At Fox 6, Ben has reported on some of Wisconsin’s biggest stories from the Sikh Temple and Azana Salon shootings to the unrest in Sherman Park in 2016. He has also walked with Brett Favre while returning to Lambeau Field and assisted in pushing cars stuck in the snow during a few Wisconsin winters. Ben also has been sent across the country where he has seen the destruction of an F-5 tornado in Oklahoma and the heartbreak left behind after the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. In Dallas, Ben saw the resilience of officers who had to head back to work following five of their coworkers who were killed and have stood feet away from Air Force One for two different presidents.
Ben was raised in northwest Connecticut and after graduating from college he landed his first job at ABC affiliate WICS in Springfield, Illinois. He was promoted and sent to a sister station in Champaign, Illinois at WICD. Ben’s work has received honors from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, and the Milwaukee Press Club. In the year 2016, he began a goofy boat blog to share images of Milwaukee’s vibrant shipping industry (bigboatsmke.com).
