Before working at KCRG, Beth worked at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she served as an adjunct Professor for 3 years. While there, she taught journalism students in the undergraduate and graduate programs. From 1993 to 1998, Malickli was a bookseller.
Her reporting and anchoring, have earned her recognition, including Northwest Broadcast News Association awards, Iowa Broadcast News Association awards, regional Emmy awards, and various community awards. Moreover, she has also served as the United Way of East Central Iowa co-chair, raising $10.33 million for the 2009 campaign. Beth has also written grants earning more than $1.8 million benefiting children in eastern Iowa from 2013-2017.
Aside from that, Malicki is a founding director of the Zach Johnson Foundation board and oversees its Kids on Course program. The effort provides tutoring, summer learning camps, enrichment programming, and parent engagement strategies at schools in the Cedar Rapids area with a disproportionate number of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
