Williams has been working in the TV business since 1989. His first job out of college was at WPDE-TV in Florence/Myrtle Beach, where he worked as a weekend sportscaster. He later climbed the ranks and was promoted to sports director in 1991.
Following his time in Florence/Myrtle Beach, Williams worked as a sports director at WCBD-TV in Charleston in 1992 and WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge in 1999. In 2002, he transitioned to news when he joined WATE. He loves the local news because it gives him the opportunity to get out in the community and find ways to either display or better the city.
