Curtis works at NBC 5 News where he serves as a  co-anchor at 6 p.m. & 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. He has more than 25 years of experience in local television news. While at the station Brian has covered major stories for NBC5. Which includes the tornado outbreak of 2012, the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia, and the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas. He was also one of the panelists for the 2014 Texas gubernatorial debates. Additionally, Curtis also covered the Olympics in London, Rio, Beijing, Athens, and Pyeongchang as well as the Super Bowl and the World Series. He is also fervent about NBC5’s “Clear The Shelters” project, which finds homes for animals in DFW-area shelters that have been covered by him.

Curtis joined NBC 5 as a general assignment reporter as well as worked his way up to the anchor desk.  Prior to joining  NBC 5, Brian worked at KOMU-TV in Columbia, where his path to DFW started in Missouri, then passed through TV stations in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Birmingham, and Kansas City. He has also been honored several times as the best news anchor in Texas by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters and is a multiple Lone Star Emmy Award winner.
