While at the station, Voorhees reported on the Isaias, Dorian, Elsa, and Eta hurricanes among others, the horrific blooms of the red tides, and a meteotsunami. The American Meteorological Society designated her as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) while still at WINK.
Prior to joining WINK, Voorhees worked at ThreeSixOh PR in Sarasota, Florida as a Digital Media Coordinator from December 2017 to September 2018. Before that, she worked as a weekend meteorologist and weather producer at WPDE TV 15 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from August 2016 to November 2017. She dealt with hurricanes, humidity, and a little snow. Voorhees says that the biggest storm during her time in Myrtle Beach was Hurricane Matthew which went over their station and dumped more than fourteen degrees of rain in some spots. Voorhees is excited to work in Charlotte where she is close to her hometown, family, and friends.
