Porter serves as a sports director at WTLV based in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, he is in charge of conceptualizing and executing all sports special programming. Prior to working at WTLV, he worked at First Coast News where he served as a weekend sports anchor and reporter based in Jacksonville, Florida from April 2009 to May 2013.
Previously, from December 2003 to April 2009, he worked at WMAZ-TV based in Macon, Georgia where he served as a sports director and weekend sports anchor/reporter. Upon joining WMAZ, he started off by serving as a news assistant and video journalist from December 2003 to August 2004. He is also an active volunteer at Edward Waters College and Emmett Reed Community Ctr.
Since he started his journalism career, he has won several awards and honors including 3 Emmy Award nominations among other honors. Moreover, he has also covered a ton of sports stories including the Jaguars’ annual London game since its inception and the 2016 Olympics from Rio.
