Chuck Bishop Scarborough is an American television Journalist and Author working as the leads news Anchor at WNBC since 1974. He anchors the News 4 New York at 6pm every night. He is an Emmy Award winner who has led breaking news coverage locally and abroad over the years, filling reports from the Middle East, Russia, The Philippines, Europe, Mexico and South America, Chuck who is a U.S Airforce Veteran began his career as an anchor and also an operations manager at WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi, United States Of America.
Chuck’s anchoring was a key component of NBC 4 New York’s award- winning COVID-19 coverage, honored in January 2021 with the prestigious Alfred I. DuPont- Colombia University Award for creating a 360 view in real time of the coronavirus Pandemic. Scarborough has earned 36 Local Emmy Awards which was honored by the New York Chapter of Television Arts & sciences, his work has also earned awards from the Associated Press, New York Press club, the Aviation and space writers, the Washington Review of Journalism’s Best in the Business, the Working Press Association, and the New York State Broadcasters Association.
He also supports a number of non-profit organizations which aid in supporting animal Welfare, the Environment, Arts and Education. Chuck is aslo the voice for the New York Cares Coats Drive PSA- the Shivering Liberty Statue.
