Before working at WJBF NewChannel 6, Colin served as a weekend sports anchor at Kalb-tv. During his time there, he was covering local and state-wide sports in Louisiana. From April 2016 to September 2017, Cody worked at Hearst Television as a news photographer. He also served as a weekend evening show editor at the station.
Prior to serving at Hearst Television, he worked at The Lyric Oxford Theater as a freelance photographer for 10 months. At the station, he tried to create visuals that capture the moments of today’s popular artists as they stop at the Lyric at Oxford. From October 2014 to May 2016, he served as a sports reporter and anchor at New Watch 99. During his time there, he covered some of the best teams in collegiate sports at the University of Mississippi. He also had the opportunity to travel and report on the sidelines for some of Ole Miss’ biggest sports moments in school history.
Before working at New Watch he served as a production assistant at Media Process Group for one month. While there, he assisted producers, directors, talent, and the production team with camera work and slating for the recording of episodes. In addition to that, Cody was also responsible for managing and coordinating operations paid talent (extras) in the recording of ‘A Piece of The Game’ while in Oxford, MS. From June 2015 to August 2015, Colin was an intern at Q 105 FM. During his time there, he was able to learn to use his voice to seek emotion and get a message across rather than using images. Additionally, He was able to grow and learn another side of journalism.
Prior to joining Q 105 FM, Cody was a brand ambassador at REC*IT. while there, he was promoting the brand and app through social media by getting intramural participants to become more aware of the benefits of having the app downloaded on their phones. Colin began his career at Northwest Community College as an assistant sports information director from January 2013 to April 2013. During his time there, he was filming and taking action shots of baseball and softball games, also required to do standups.
