Cory Reppenhagen is an American Emmy award-winning Meteorologist currently working for 9News in Denver Colorado as a Weather Reporter. The year 2001 saw him move to Wichita, Kansas where he was working for the KAKE-10 TV station. This is where he also got to see Kansas supercell thunderstorms come marching across the plains. After this, he was immediately hooked on severe weather and storm chasing which he does to date.

He joined Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) in Grand Junction, Colorado where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 1999. While studying for the Degree, he got his first job in television news at KJCT-8 and KKCO-11. Later on, while working in Florida for WFTV-9, decided to join the distance learning program at the Mississippi State University to better his career in meteorology. There he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience in 2010.

After his graduation from high school, he decided not to join college immediately. Reppenhagen got two life experiences which first was a trip to Australia where he went to play baseball for a team representing Colorado. There, he got to live with host families, Down Under, while playing ball and experiencing the great country as a teenager. Additionally, he later went to work for Keystone Resort where he worked for two years. There, he took care of the ice rink and registered more than 100 hits on his ski pass.
Later on, after covering many tornadoes and severe weather outbreaks, he made a decision to move to Florida where he would experience some tropical storms. This timing was perfect as in the year 2004, he was able to cover his first four hurricanes: Frances, Jeanne, Charley, and Ivan. Later in 2005, he covered hurricanes, Katrina, Rita, Wilma, Dennis, and Ophelia.
While in Florida, he was working for WFTV-9. There, his job focus switched from photographing the news to forecasting and reporting on the weather as a meteorologist.
Cory spent 10 years at WFTV in Orlando covering 14 hurricanes and 4 other named tropical storms. One of his most memorable moments was riding a hurricane hunter aircraft into the eye of the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic basin, Wilma, in October of 2005. Another memorable moment was seeing EF-5 tornado damage for the first time in Hackleburg, Alabama. Cory won a Suncoast Regional Emmy award for his coverage of the April 2011 tornado super outbreak across the state of Alabama.
He spent ten years working at WFTV in Orlando where he was able to cover 14 hurricanes and 4 other named tropical storms.
