Koeller initially didn’t want to be on TV, wanting to serve the National Weather Service while in high school. While in college, he realized he enjoyed talking about the weather a little too much, and the best way to do that was to move to TV.
After college, Koeller launched his career at FOX 5, where he was the chief meteorologist until September 2018. He then moved to Omaha, where he worked until 2024. He always welcomes questions about the forecast.
