During his time there, he reported on a “once in a generation” tornado outbreak in January 2022, as well as Hurricane Ian which destroyed the area and flooded the TV station with storm surge. Before that, he worked at WTVM News Leader 9 in Columbus, Georgia as a meteorologist from May 2018 to July 2020. While working at the station, he covered many tornado outbreaks, winter weather, as well as Hurricane Michael.
Prior to that, Federico worked at Campus Connect at Mississippi State University as a meteorologist from August 2016 to May 2018. Federico said that he has always loved the weather for as long as he can remember. Over the past ten years, Federico has successfully intercepted and covered many tornado outbreaks along with Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Ida, and Ian.
