Edi Gathegi born Edi Mue Gathegi, is a Kenyan American Actor best known for his appearance in the television series House as Dr. Jeffrey Cole, and in the film Gone Baby Gone as Cheese in 2007. He also had a recurring role in the NBC TV series The Blacklist as Matias Solomon, reprising the role in the season of the crime thriller, The Blacklist Redemption.

Gathegi started his career in theatre where he had stage credits including As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Two Trains Running at the Old Globe Theatre among others. His first professional character was in the 2006 film Crank, where he played the role of the Haitian Cabbie. He had initially auditioned for the role of Kaylo, but the role was given to Efren Ramirez and Gathegi was given the role of the Haitian Cabbie. At first, he was doubtful about doing a Haitian accent but was trained by his Haitian friend.
In 2007, Gathegi starred in Death Sentence as Bodie, in The Fifth Patient as Darudi, and in Gone Baby Goneas Cheese, after being a guest star on Veronica Mars and Lincoln Heights. He later appeared in the TV medical drama, House which aired from 2004 to 2012, playing a recurring role as Dr. Jeffrey Cole. In 2008, Gathegi guest-starred in Life on Mars and CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, then was later cast in Twilight as Laurent. In 2011, he appeared in Atlas Shrugged playing the role of Eddie Willers.
Gathegi played another Haitian role in season 5 of Justified as Jean Baptiste, but he was not happy with the character, so he requested to be written off the show. He had a recurring role in the NBC TV series, The Blacklist, playing the character, Matias Solomon. He reprised the character in the season crime thriller from 2016 to 2017, The Blacklist Redemption. Gathegi also played the character Ronald Dacey in the drama series StarUp in 2016, and in 2023, he was cast in the film Superman: Legacy as Mister Terrific.

Gathegi appeared in the NBC television series The Blacklist which aired in 2013, in the role of Matias Solomon. Solomon is an operative for a covert organization and a former member of the Cabal. He appears as a hired hand, carrying out an operation against Alexander Kirk. He works together with Nez Rowan, Susan Hargrave, Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold), and the Task Force. Gathegi helps the team rob the Key Atlantic Bank and he later abducts Pruitt. Tom Keen guns him down in a pharmacy in Berlin due to anger and revenge, but when the police arrive at the scene, they only find blood showing that Solomon was moved or fled.
