Egypt Sherrod is an American real estate broker and a television personality who is well known for her appearance as a host in the HGTV show Flipping Virgins, and Property Virgins, its long running show. She also appeared on Married To Real Estate and Rock the Block.

Sherrod began her career as a host at jazz station, when she was 18 years old, and at 19, she started working as music director at a radio station, and was youngest in the country. While growing up, her father and uncle were real estate brokers, and this made her see real estate as a way to get retirement money, and it also led to the down fall of her career in radio. At the age of 24, she purchased her first home where most of her profits went to fees for her agents in real estate and therefore, in 2002, she became a licensed agent. Sherrod also worked as a correspondent on the Maury show.
When she interviewed Oprah, Prince, and Tyler Perry, she became number 1 radio personality for the WBLS 107.5 in New York City. The program was incorporated in over sixty cities across United States and her exposure to celebrities increased her real estate customers. Sherrod was tired of the ‘gossip and entertainment reports’ and this made her quit radio. One day as she was hosting a show, she received a call from a casting director who was interested in Sherrod hosting the show, Property Virgins. She accepted to audition and eventually got a role.
After four episodes, she realized that she was pregnant and she feared to loose her job hence hiding it from the producers. To her surprise, the pregnancy was not quite an issue. Sherrod later decided to make a change, considering the challenge of balancing work and life in New York. She therefore decided to accept a job offer to work as a midday host at WVEE V-103 in Atlanta. During her time there, she interviewed celebrities like The Braxtons, Jazze Pha, Musiq Soulchild, Keith Sweat, and Marsha Ambrosius.
Property Virgins then moved to Atlanta so she could continue filming , and she worked on weekends. However, she quitted due to postpartum depression, and the overwhelming demands of her career and life. Sherrod starred in the film, Life, Love, Soul which aired in 2012 and also hosted White House Christmas Special, Rose Parade, and Urban Oasis” Giveaways, HGTV shows. Before that, she hosted Home Delivery on Tribune’s syndicated networks.
Sherrod hosted The Life You Want Tour, an Oprah’s show and has been invited as a recurring guest and lifestyle pundit on some programs including Showbiz Tonight, Steve Harvey, Dish Nation, and Larry Wilmore Show. She hosted the reunion special of the TV soap opera series The Haves and the Have Nots from the Oprah Winfrey Network on 27th July 2021 and 3rd August 2021. Sherrod and her husband starred in the show on HGTV named Married to Real Estate and they also served as judges in Rock the Block on HGTV season 2.

The show entails top designers who are given only a few weeks and a limited budget to refurbish four blank-slate homes. The homes have signature styles and are all located in the same block. The designers who win, will have a street named in their honor and they also get bragging rights. Sherrod and her husband acted as judges in season 2 and participated in the third season where they won.
