After Chaloux found out that the state did not need schools to test lead in drinking water, a law was passed.
He also reported crime, legal, and stories concerning politics for almost ten years in the city of Kansas. Chaloux has been awarded the Edward R. Murrow award for an investigative series he made concerning bizarre local public utility collection practices and millions of dollars in unpaid bills. Chaloux did some undercover news investigations, where 2 of them showed faults in the tax collection programs of state sales that later caused the filing of the legislation to correct the mess in Kansas and Missouri. These investigations won the Missouri Broadcaster’s Association award in 2011. Due to his investigative reports, he has received an Emmy Award.
