Davis works at WETC News in Wilmington, North Carolina as a senior weeknight meteorologist. He joined the station in April 2004. Prior to that, he worked at KATC-TV in Lafayette, Louisiana as a 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m. Meteorologist from February 2001 to January 2004. While working at the station, he helped the Chief Meteorologist to prepare and implement Baron’s Live Doppler Radar and Fastrac display. Davis utilized street level mapping and storm tracking. He also reported on tropical weather events such as Tropical Storm Allison, Hurricane Lili, and Tropical Storm Bill. Additionally, he designed and built animations and graphics with WSI Weather Producer.
Before joining the station, Davis worked as a chief meteorologist at KRBC-TV (NBC) in Abilene, Texas from September 1998 to January 2001. During his time there, he trained, managed, and scheduled a department of three Meteorologists. He also updated the outdated weather technology with Genesis Storm Sentinel and new Live Line Genesis weather graphics. Before that, Davis worked at WTAP-TV (NBC) in Parkersburg, West Virginia as a chief meteorologist from July 1997 to August 1998. He also worked at KEVN-TV (FOX) in South Dakota as a noon meteorologist from June 1996 to July 1997. Prior to that, Davis worked as a weather intern at WTVD-TV from September 1993 to August 1995.
