Previously before joining News 8, Eric worked at KMGH, the ABC affiliate in Denver, Colorado where he served as the main evening anchor. While in the station he received numerous Emmy awards for anchoring and reporting. Viewers turned to Kahnert for some investigative, weather, Colorado’s biggest news, and sports stories, including the numerous destructive and deadly storms and wildfires, and the Aurora theater shooting trial.
He also worked at KUSA, the NBC affiliate in Denver where he served as the weekend anchor. His live reports were featured on Dateline NBC and CNN. Eric also worked at KSTP, the ABC affiliate in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he served as an anchor.
