She enjoyed the fast-paced environment of the newsroom, but she saw herself gravitating towards the weather side of things, particularly after covering several major weather events. It was in Charlotte that she met her eventual weather mentor, and he urged her to go back to school for meteorology.
Erin took a full-time position serving as the weekend morning forecaster at WBTW-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina while carrying meteorology classes online through Mississippi State University. In Myrtle Beach, she covered extreme thunderstorms and lots of tropical weather, including final landfall just south of Myrtle Beach and Hurricane Matthew in 2016 as the storm made its fourth, near McClellanville, South Carolina. Less than three months later, she made the 1200-mile trip to Texas with her soon-to-be hubby and their dog, and the rest is history.
While in Texas, Erin has wrapped everything from hail, tornadoes, and flooding, to ice storms, severe heat events, and everything in between. She believes it a great honor to be welcomed into your home each morning and evening, and she knows it arrives with an incredible responsibility to keep you and your family safe, particularly when extreme weather is forecast.
