He was brought up in the Philadelphia suburbs he witnessed the impact of a number of weather conditions including the 1993 Superstorm. Cornish interest in weather grew after the 1994 EF-3 tornado tore through a nearby community and while he was in Joplin, MO, he was working when an EF-4 tornado crossed through the viewing area. During his leisure time, he enjoys kayaking, biking, hiking and spending time with his family while they travel.
