Before that, he served at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, as a fill-in anchor and a reporter. Previously, Loesch worked at WWTV as a photographer and reporter. Before that, Loesch worked as a morning and weekend anchor at WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio. Loesch kicked off his career in television, at WWTV in Cadillac-Traverse City, as a reporter and photographer. While in high school and college, he served at radio stations in Mt Pleasant and Iron Mountain as a DJ and a newscaster.
Loesch has covered major stories which include; the western Pennsylvania floods in 2004, the mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue, and the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse. In addition, Loesch has traveled to cover gubernatorial and U.S. Senate election night results, and the death of Pope John Paul II.
