In the show’s history, RuPaul’s Drag Race Sn 15 features the largest cast, where sixteen queens compete, and the largest cash prize, with the winner earning $200,000. Also, it is the first season to feature biological relatives, twins Spice, and Sugar. Series judges Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, and Michelle Visage came back and Ts Madison, who before appeared as a recurring guest judge, joined the judge’s panel.
From last season’s premiere episode, the season premiere received 752,000 viewers, up almost 2 % which became the most-watched premiere since Season 10. For the fifteenth season of Drag Race on social media, RuPaul announced a casting call in November 2021. Season 14 premiered on January 7, 2022, and also that was the last day the casting call would be open.
VH1 officially announced the show’s renewal in August 2022 as well as that of its companion series, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked.
