Thompson works for 7News Boston WHDH-TV as a weekday evening anchor. She co-anchors the 7News 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 9 p.m. weekday newscasts. Jadian arrived at 7News in June 2015. Before that, Jadian served as the 6 pm weekday anchor for the NBC affiliate in Kansas City – KSHB TV. While in Kansas City, she won two Emmy awards. One Emmy was for best anchor in the area and the other one was for her piece on the FCC considering loosening restrictions on in-flight cell phone use.
In addition to anchoring every weekday, she served as a reporter for the evening newscasts. Many of those days, Jadian served as a multimedia journalist which meant she operated her own camera while reporting. Her favorite days were when the 6 pm newscast she was anchoring began with a story she pitched, wrote, shot, and edited.
Prior to joining KSHB, Jadian served as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor at KPHO-TV in Phoenix, AZ. She was honored with her first Emmy award for a report on WiFi hacking. During her time in Phoenix, Jadian reported on the Jodi Arias trial and the country’s self-proclaimed hardest sheriff, Joe Arpaio. She also reported heavily on immigration reform and spent about two weeks on the front lines reporting on the Wallow Fire, Arizona’s largest wildfire in state history.
Jadian began her television news career at KTWO-TV in Casper, WY. She came to KTWO first as a multimedia journalist and was later promoted to executive producer and main anchor of the station’s 5 pm, 6 pm & 10 pm newscasts within a year. Jadian also expended time as the assistant news director at the station. Right out of university, she taught English as a second language in Madrid, Spain.
Jadian graduated in 2007 from the University of Arkansas where she studied broadcast journalism. During her time in college, she interned on Capitol Hill for Congressman John Boozman who is currently a US Senator. Jadian loves being involved in the community and riding horses. She pays much of her free time as an emcee for charity occasions and has operated closely with the ALS Association.
