Over his 3 years of experience in the business as an anchor/reporter and producer, he has reported three Super Bowls, one Stanley Cup Final, three World Series, and seven NBA Finals.
He worked as a reporter/anchor at KRON-TV and also as an executive sports producer before he joined KTVU. For one year at CBS 2 in Los Angeles, he produced sports. He worked for a multi-media company in San Francisco where he served as a content producer in the mid-’90s when he began his tv career. He has lived in Bay Area since 1992, except in 1999where he worked there for one year.
Appelbaum enjoys a handful of big-time college programs, youth sports scenes, the sports landscape with six major professional sports teams as well as the vast high school. But Bay Area is his most beautiful place on earth and loves endless outdoor activities and micro-climates. During his free time, he likes spending time with his family such as attending his daughter’s youth soccer matches and his son’s high school basketball games. He enjoys going to movies, traveling, and walk the family dog, hiking, and mountain biking.
