Since she joined WCCO, she has been a part of the 10 o’clock news team. This team was honored with a regional Murrow award for their coverage of the Jacob Wetterling case and the arrest of his kidnapper and killed, Danny Heinrich. The RTNDA also recognized her with a Murrow for “Spreading Kindness.”
This is the sorry of a young girl with cancer who, along with her sisters formed a friendship with their garbage men. Additionally, she has also been honored in Minnesota with an Emmy and by the Minnesota chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
She was very happy to cover the 2016 Ryder Cup as she was continuing with her reports from several major golf tournaments including The Masters. Additionally, she was moved by her journey with Minnesota war veterans on their Honor Flight to visit the war memorials in Washington, D.C, and also to observe the changing of the guard with them at Arlington National Cemetery.

CBS46
Previously, she was working with CBS46 located in Atlanta where she was recognized for excellence in reporting and for community involvement. In one of her reports, she was able to save lives. This is when she did an investigation on counterfeit smoke detectors purchased by the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department and later distributed to low-income residents.
This highly publicized series of reports prompted the FBI investigation of the distributor and forced the department to recall and begin to replace more than 18,000 faulty detectors. One of the detectors later alerted and saved a family of six from a fire that destroyed their home.
She received the Apex Society’s 2008 “Power 30 under 30” award which was honoring 30 professionals in Atlanta under the age of 30 for excellence in their professional and community endeavors. Additionally, she also enjoyed volunteering, emceeing events, and serving on boards of directors which include the Atlanta Press Club.
While in Atlanta, she also did occasional reports on The Insider and CNN including one for CNN where she was reporting from Atlanta in January. This was during the onset of a spell of bitterly cold weather in Minnesota. She also contributed profiles of prominent individuals to the Atlantan monthly magazine.
WKRG
Prior to moving to Atlanta, she was also previously working as a weekend anchor/reporter for WKRG in Mobile, Alabama. There, she was gaining international exposure for her coverage of Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, she also won her first Emmy and Murrow award for her interview with Hardy Jackson in Biloxi, Mississippi hours after his wife was swept from his grasp by the floodwaters.
This is one of the first stories of human suffering to emerge from Katrina’s wreckage. Hardy and Jennifer became friends and she maintained her connection with Hardy until his death in the year 2013. To date, she still keeps in touch with his family.

She kick-started her working career working at KWES-TV located in Midland, Texas where she was serving the station as an anchor/reporter. Jennifer joined this station in September 2000 and worked there till March 2003. This is a smaller market that helped her learn the value of self-sufficiency and grow up to appreciate the beauty of rolling tumbleweeds. Away from work, she enjoys being active in the community. She is a mentor with Minnetonka High School’s VANTAGE program and is on the Advisory Board for Assistance League of Minneapolis St, Paul.
