There he spent 2 years there shooting his own video, covering local stories, and editing his reports. May’s work stood out – he received the Mark of Excellence Award in the year 2021. It was for in-depth television reporting from the SPJ (Society of Professional Journalists). In the year 2023, May was named runner-up for daily news reporting by the Montana Broadcasters Association.
In July of the year 2023, May returned to ABC4 Utah – this time as a full-time news reporter. Now reporting in Salt Lake County, May covers stories that matter to the community and brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to his work. He says that returning to the place where his career began feels like a full-circle moment for him.
