Donovan serves as a reporter, anchor, and weather forecaster at KRDO NewsChannel 13 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She rejoined the station in November 2022 after a one-year break from journalism. She is responsible for co-anchoring/producing newscasts while simultaneously producing and presenting weekend weather forecasts for live 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. shows. Additionally, she reports on environmental concerns, outdoor recreation, community issues, events, and also holds the position of go-to fill-in weekday meteorologist.
Previously, Julia worked as a videographer for Big Red F Restaurant Group. In this role, she created engaging social media content for several well-known restaurants, including Centro Mexican Kitchen, Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, The Post, and West End Tavern. During her time away from journalism, Julia also worked at a major Colorado law firm. There, she helped share the stories of car crash survivors, advocating for their justice and recovery. Now that she has returned to Colorado Springs, Donovan hopes to help keep people safe out in the elements.
