In 2010, Killmer starred in the short-lived reality web series called If I Can Dream which featured 5 aspiring actresses and actors who were determined to be successful in the entertainment business. They all lived together in a home in Los Angeles that had cameras that followed their every move. Their goal was to get a job that would help them get out of the house and also to rise to a bigger career. She was cast in the science fiction crime thriller pilot Tin Man as Athena True in 2014. Unfortunately, it was not picked by NBC when it announced its 2014-2015 TV schedule.
In the same year, she played the role of paramedic Sylvie Brett on the NBC drama Chicago Fire, replacing Lesly Shay ( Lauren German) in season three premiere called Always. The season aired on 23rd September 2014. Killmer was featured on the cover of Chicago Splash magazine’s August 2016 issue together with Miranda Rae Mayo and Monica Raymund who are co-stars in Chicago Fire. She made her first film appearance in the action-adventure thriller Beyond the Mask with John Rhys-Davies and Killmer’s husband Andrew Cheney. The film was released on 6th April 2015.
