She was also honored with a mural from the Better Family Life, “Walls Mural Project.” Parts of Page Boulevard are now lined with colorful murals of prominent members of the African-American Community.
Asides from her journalism career, she is a gifted motivational speaker and orator who won first place in critical competitions regionally, locally, nationally, and stately. These awards were sponsored by the Elks of the World the National Association for Advancement of Colored People, American Legion Posts, and many more. She also serves as a motivational speaker for business and community organizations.
Her speaking career began at an early age when she was about 15 years old. At this time, she was the first student in her high school to win a national oratorical championship title. The title allowed her to have the opportunity to travel across the country as a motivational speaker for her generation. She was also selected by her peers in high school and college to give the students’ commencement responses for the graduation ceremonies. Now as she is a successful broadcaster, she continues to speak to high schools, churches, organizations, and businesses where she shares her insights and inspires others around the world.

Away from work, she enjoys volunteering in churches, and schools, horseback riding, fishing, and golfing. Her motto has always been “Not for ourselves, but for others.”
