After one year, he went back to Las Vegas at KVBC (now KSNV) where he served as an anchor. For nearly 15 years he went to anchor the top-rated 4 p. m and 6 p. m newscasts.
Throughout the way, he acquired local, regional, and national awards including Murrow’s and Emmy. Kendall was also named twice one of Las Vegas’ favorite newscasters in local media polls and in 2015 inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He is well known in Southern Nevada for his stories about issues affecting children, education, and his work in the community.
Tenney launched “Run for a Wish” (now “Walk for Wishes”) in 2001, which has since become the largest and highest-grossing annual fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada. In the year 2010 Kendall left the television news to launch a public relations firm that specializes in crisis management and media training, the 10e Media. Tenney now speaks at conferences across the country about how to effectively and consistently communicate core values. He continues to support Make-A-Wish and serves on the executive boards of the Public Education Foundation and Win-Win.
