Kristofferson began his music career in the 1970s. His debut album for Monument was Kristofferson, which included a few new songs and many of his previous hits. Additionally, Kris released his second album Silver Tongued Devil and I in early 1971. In the same year, he released his third album titled Border Lord. He also swept the Grammy Awards that year with numerous songs nominated, winning Country Song of the Year for “Help Me Make It Through the Night”.
