Before taking up this role, he served the station as a News and Sports Reporter and also as a fill-in sports Anchor since July 2016. This was before moving to the role of Sports Reporter/Weekend Sports Anchor in August 2019.

He is an award-winning journalist having won second place as a sports anchor in the year 2017 Texas AP Broadcasters Awards. Additionally, he was also named to the 2018 Texas Association of School Boards Media Honor Roll, in addition to receiving the Salado High School football program’s 2018 Contribution to the Game Award.

He is a proud member of the Football Writers Association of America, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Away from the cameras, he is an active football and basketball official with the Texas Association of Sports Officials and Texas High School Basketball Officials Association.

The spring of 2016 saw him being named the top senior on his degree track by the School of Media & Strategic Communications. While he was at the University, he also won several awards from the Broadcast Education Association, National Broadcasting Society, and Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association.
