He is a proud member of the Football Writers Association of America, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, and U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Away from the cameras, he is an active football and basketball official with the Texas Association of Sports Officials and Texas High School Basketball Officials Association.
The spring of 2016 saw him being named the top senior on his degree track by the School of Media & Strategic Communications. While he was at the University, he also won several awards with the Broadcast Education Association, National Broadcasting Society, and Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association.
