As Sprinkle was driving in the late afternoon rush on 4th May 2016, traffic stopped abruptly, he did not see the break lights, resulting in his car slamming into a pickup truck. The front of his car was completely damaged, but the people in the truck were fine. The first people who arrived at the scene were the Ballantyne’s Fire Station 32 Firefighters and among them was Pete Baretsky. Sprinkle broke a wrist, and both legs and fractured some ribs and was in physical therapy for some months. He was worried that he would not return on Television.
