Lowrey was the morning anchor at WTOL in Toledo, Ohio, before moving to Indianapolis. There, she covered money matters during the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. The morning newscast earned several Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award for “Best Newscast” for a severe winter weather broadcast during her stint at the anchor desk.
