Bienvenu works at Denver 7 (KMGH-TV) serving as a Sports Director. He joined Denver7 in 2001 as Sports Director, hosting “Monday Night Live” alongside Broncos receiver Ed McCaffrey. Lionel also hosted “Mile High Living” and “The John Fox Show” in 2012 and 2013. He transferred to News and hosted the Denver7 morning show and “The Now” at 4 pm, but in 2014 returned to Sports. The finest moments so far have been covering the Broncos’ signing of Peyton Manning in 2012, as well as”Rocktober” and the Rockies “Run to the World Series” in 2007  and their run to the Super Bowl in 2013 and 2015.

Lionel was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in New Orleans, where he went to Loyola University. His first career was as a Sports Reporter &Anchor in 1985 in Lafayette, Louisiana covering the Ragin’ Cajuns of USL. He relocated to WVUE-TV Fox-8 in New Orleans not long after where he hosted the “Jim Mora Show” together with the Saints head coach from 1989-1993. Lionel earned “Best Sportscaster” and “Best Host” awards in 1995 from the New Orleans Press Club.

Lionel departed New Orleans for L.A. in 1997, where he served as an anchor for Fox Sports Network. He hosted the hour-long national highlight show “Fox Sports News Prime Time” which turned into “The National Sports Report.” He also anchored”Baseball Today” on Fox, and from 1998-2000 hosted “The English Premier League Soccer Show” on Fox Sports World and  Fox Sports Net. The show was seen in Europe, U.S., and Central and South America. The show was so famous that there were six other soccer teams all over the U.S. that named themselves after Bienvenu!

Lionel also anchored the 1997 MLB All-Star game and the 1997 Super Bowl, as well as the 2000 “Subway Series” between the Mets and Yankees. He was also the guest host of “This Week in Sports” in June of 2000 on DirectTV and was a guest host on Fox Sports Radio in L.A. In 2001, Lionel hosted the Fox Sports Regional Sports Reports for the Rocky Mountain region and Los Angeles. His interests include watching his children play sports.
