Just one day after Lopez’s story aired, the site raised over $3000. A journalist for over 20 years, Lopez feels honored to narrate peoples’ stories and is privileged to meet many inspiring individuals along the way. As a breast cancer survivor, she has shared her challenges during recovery and treatment with a series of stories on her courageous battle against the disease as a working mother and wife.

Before joining NBC4, Lopez had a successful, 10-year-long occupation at WPIX-TV in New York, where she was a general assignment reporter and, afterward, a sports anchor. She was appointed the main sports anchor and a field reporter for the NY Mets, working beside the late great Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver. Earlier in her profession, she was one of two reporters on Court TV’s issue-oriented legal program “Pros and Cons” beside Nancy Grace. While working on the show, Lopez reported on many controversial cases, including the parole hearing of John Lennon’s murderer.
