Prichard’s husband, Travis, died on August 16, 2019, by suicide. He suffered from depression, but, for the most part, he kept it to himself. Prichard said Travis didn’t want to talk about it, even when she pressed him. Travis was ashamed. “He would say things to me like, ‘I feel weak,’ and, ‘I don’t want to burden you,’” she said. “He hid a lot of that from me.”
“I always thought Travis and I would be married until we were old and our kids were older and had their own families and we’d have grandchildren,” Prichard said. “Now I look at myself, and I am a single parent. I’m raising two children on my own, and it is hard.” She later wrote on her Facebook to thank all those who supported her after the death of her husband.
