Marcus Hunter is an American Anchor and Reporter working for the WREG serving the station as a breaking news and weekend anchor. He joined the station in March 2022 after working at Hearst Television.

Prior to joining WREG, he served as a Morning news anchor at Hearst Television. While there, he also co-hosted Blitz 16″ (our Friday night high school football show) Anchor Live on location. From October 2010 to August 2015, Marcus served as a co-host of Memphis Sport Live as Sport 56 WHBQ. During his time there, he engaged and entertained listeners with current events, news, and sports.

Before joining Sport 56 WHBQ, he worked at Fox 13 Memphis where he served as a weekend sports anchor. During that role, he covered sporting events including the Memphis Grizzlies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tennessee Titans. Prior to working as a weekend sports anchor, he served as a multimedia journalist at the station. In that role, Hunter covered weekly city council meetings. Additionally, he also developed and produced news stories for daily broadcasts. Marcus joined the station as a sports anchor and a reporter. While in that role he covered sports and news in the Memphis DMA.
Prior to joining Fox 13 Memphis, he worked at WCBI-TV where he served as a weekend sports anchor from December 2001 to December 2005. He also served as a Morning News Anchor for Jackson’s morning show, which won multiple Emmys. During his time there, he covered national stories including; the fight to change the Mississippi state flag. Additionally, Marcus also covered the Jackson water crisis of 2021, and Mississippi’s oral arguments to the U.S. Supreme Court.
He began his career as a production assistant at a local news station as a senior in high school. Before graduating from college Marcus earned a spot as an anchor sports and reporter.
