He later moved to senior weather producer and meteorologist roles in November 2021. Jones has a wide range of forecasting skills from tornado outbreaks to winter storms.
Before joining The Weather Channel, Jones worked at WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio as a meteorologist from May 2016 to July 2018. While at the station, he was part of the 27 Severe Weather team where he forecasted local weather and live weather reporting. During his time there, he had a shocking experience escaping an E5 that made a wrecked the town of Joplin, Missouri, and also witnessed over 70 tornadoes.
