Lue had the chance to work on some truly unforgettable stories while in Cleveland. She spent days and nights covering the front lines of Imperial Avenue – the home of the so-called, “Cleveland Strangler,” a man convicted of killing almost a dozen women and hiding their bodies inside of his home. She worked as a Traffic Reporter, Breaking News Reporter, Morning Anchor, and General Assignment Reporter.
Her journalism career began long before she even graduated from high school. At the age of 15 is when she got her first on-air gig, reporting, and anchoring for “Brookwood Upclose,” a syndicated series concentrating on issues impacting Atlanta’s youth and local events. She won her first international journalism award at the age of 16 for a documentary I did on a local shelter for troubled youth.
Lue is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She graduated with Honors from Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Communication and journalism. Her first real TV took her to the hills of West Virginia, to NBC station WVVA. She reported during the week, and produced, anchored, and reported for her own newscast on the weekends.
Lue interviewed several notable icons, including former NASA engineer, Homer Hickam, and Dr. Philand’s inspiration for the 1999 film, “October Sky.” She tells stories to make people laugh, smile, and even forget about the rough times – even if it’s just for a few minutes.
