Stanley was born on March 28th, 1940 in New Haven, CT into a Jewish family whose parents had fled Romania, Ukraine, and Poland for America. His beloved mother was called Miriam Iscovitz (Yaffe) who sadly passed in 1967 and his father Joseph, “Grandpa Joe” to Mike’s kids, who passed in 1995 at age 88. As a young boy, he learned to use his fists.  He was an athlete and a great dancer. In 1958, he graduated from Hillhouse High School. While growing up, he always loved aviation, so he enrolled in the United States Air Force.

His service began in Texas but later he moved to Dow Air Force Base in frigid Bangor, ME. While there, he served as an Airman 2nd Class with the Strategic Air Command. He later moved to Washington, DC after his service to start his long career with National Airlines which later merged with Pan American World Airways. In 1969, he married his better half Connie Schlecht and their life together began in Alexandria, VA prior to moving to South Florida in 1974.

He worked as a Lead Agent for 28 years and was a supervisor at Miami and Fort Lauderdale International Airports. After his sons were born, he enjoyed taking them outdoor, traveling to places like Turkey, Greece, Guatemala, England, Cayman Islands, Brazil, Barbados, as well as Alaska. He shared a very strong bond with his sons and referred to them as The Three Amigos.

Stanely was stabbed to death at the age of 80 years. He was an Air Force veteran. This happened on December 3, 2020, when he was walking to the stores in Southwest Houston. He was killed  Thursday morning in the 10600 block of Westbrae Parkway.
