While he worked in the Palmetto State, he worked in Columbia for a week while covering the Confederate flag controversy at the South Carolina State House. In addition, he also covered the devastating flooding in Richland County and he traveled to North Charleston in 2015, where he covered the Walter Scott police shooting that made national headlines.
In addition, he also broke a number of stories across the Upstate and unveiled a legal loophole in South Carolina that concealed weapons permit law that some said put the public at risk. Manzoni also uncovered oversight problems at elder care facilities that put a strain on public safety resources. Prior to relocating to Palmetto State, he worked at KZTV-TV, KRIS-TV, and CBS duopoly in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Furthermore, he unearthed many of sex offenders in the Lone Star State who resided near elementary schools, exposed a tanning salon that broke the law, and investigated food stamp fraud. While Mike was in the West, he filed reports on the aftermath of the fertilizer plant explosion that garnered national attention. He was part of the team that was awarded a Southeast Emmy Award for best newscast in 2015. In addition, he was recognized with an honorable mention in the reporter craft achievement competition in 2013 by the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
