Prior to joining the station, he worked at WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut as a chief meteorologist from September 1998 to September 2002. Muzio also worked at KERN-AM in Wasco-Greenacres, California as a meteorologist from 1990 to 2009. He served as a military meteorologist in the U.S. Air Force for twelve years, where he analyzed weather in all parts of the world. His skills improved when he was at Global Weather Central in Omaha, Nebraska where he gave storm warnings for the whole nation in the 1970s.

Muzio loves storm chasing and has flown into hurricanes. When the U.S. Air Force stationed him in Houston, he had an opportunity to work with the commander of the Apollo 17 moon mission, astronaut Gene Cernan, providing weather support for the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle in 1972. Muzio transitioned into television in 1980 when he was a weather briefer for the Alaskan Air Command. His television career started in Anchorage, Alaska as a weekend forecaster. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. He received the designation in 2005 from the American Meteorological Society (AMS). In 1983, Muzio received the AMS Seals of Approval for Television and radio in 1985.

He also holds the National Weather Association Television Seal of Approval which he received in 1992. Additionally, he founded the Kern Chapter of the NWA in 2006. Besides that, Muzio is also a station scientist and has worked at various stations in America such as San Antonio, Anchorage, St. Louis, Portland, New Orleans, and Hartford.
