Norma Gaspar (full name – Norma Ontiveros-Gaspar) is a Mexican-American Anchor, Reporter, and Producer working for KGET 17 News in Bakersfield, California, serving the station as a news anchor and executive producer. She has been working with this station since May 2004.

Gaspar says that one personal moment that strongly influenced her path in the United States came during college was when her Political Science professor urged her to become a naturalized citizen so she could gain the right to vote. Gaspar followed that advice and officially became a United States citizen in the year 1995 – she says that this was a step she considers important in shaping her future and her commitment to community involvement.
