Yanity graduated in 1985 from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He is the Sports Director and weeknight sports anchor at the CBS affiliate in Greenville, SC. Pete can be caught on 7NEWS at 6, 7, 10, and 11 p.m. He is also the host and produces 7NEWS’ popular High School Red Zone each fall, an hour-long program that airs on both WSPA-TV and The CW62.

Additionally, he does several TV play-by assignments for various entities, including the Southern Conference television network, Clemson University, the ACC, the Southern Conference television network, as well as other entities for games seen on the Nexstar Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN3, and Fox Sports/Regional (now Bally Sports), among other outlets.

Pete also served as the radio play-by-play voice of the Clemson Tigers for men’s basketball and football from 2003 through 2014 and hosted the coaches’ TV shows for those sports. In 2017, he returned as host and producer to the television shows. Among his other work, he served as the sideline reporter on the Carolina Panthers preseason TV Network from 2001-2013.

For 12 years, he hosted Wofford College’s football coach’s TV show and was inducted into the Spartanburg school’s Athletic Hall Of Fame in 2002 as an Honorary Letterman. Born and raised in Ridgefield, Conn., previously, Pete served as sports director at 7NEWS’ sister station, WBTW TV-13 in Florence, S.C., from March 1987 to October 1990, where he also served as assistant sports director and weekend sports anchor from August 1985 until March 1986. Between his time at WBTW, Pete served as the sports director for WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, W.Va.
